With the summer window just under a month old, Sunderland are still waiting for a first signing as links mount.

According to Sunderland Echo, the club are preparing for a first Europa League campaign and accept Regis Le Bris needs reinforcements.

Confirmed business so far is outbound, with Academy of Light graduate Harrison Jones joining Peterborough United and Milan Aleksic moving to Partizan on loan. Dennis Cirkin, Dan Neil, Bertrand Traore and Niall Huggins became free agents on Wednesday as contracts expired.

Captain Granit Xhaka’s future remains the main talking point amid links to Premier League rivals. Sunderland rejected an offer worth eight million pounds for the former Arsenal midfielder, and it is unclear whether a higher bid will follow.
