On Thursday, Donovan ‘Tekkz’ Hunt and Matias Bonanno will begin their Esports World Cup FC Pro World Championship journeys as they fight for one of the most prestigious FC titles.
It’s the final competition in the calendar before the 2025/26 season and the upcoming release of FC26.
Tekkz and Matias have been hard at work in Riyadh ahead of their first games. Here is all you need to know ahead of their first fixtures…
The top 32 players from around the globe have been split into eight groups of four pro players.
The group stage will follow a double-elimination format, giving the players two chances at progressing to the next stage.
Tekkz is in Group B and will begin his fight for the title against Young.
Matias is in Group C and his first game will see him take on LJR Peixoto.
Securing one of the two knockout places in their groups will see them advance to the Playoffs.
In the business end of the competition, there will be no room for errors.
In a single-elimination format for the Playoffs, four wins will see the best FC pro crowned the FC Pro World Champion.
Tekkz will take on Young at 13:00 (UK) on Thursday 7 August. Bonanno will face LJR Peixoto 50 minutes later in Group C.
If Tekkz and Matias advance to the Playoffs, the knockout stage games will begin on the evening of Friday 8 August, with the Grand Final to take place at 18:30 (UK) on Sunday 10 August.
