Although several Premier League clubs have reportedly set their sights on Fiorentina star Moise Kean, former Viola striker Roberto Pruzzo claimed it would ‘make no sense’ to offer him a new deal just to keep him at the club.
Recent reports suggested that Newcastle might be leading the race for the Italy international after opening talks with his agent. The Magpies, like other interested teams, appear to be attracted by the prospect of signing the former Juventus forward by activating his €52m release clause.
Kean has been in impressive form this season with Raffaele Palladino’s side, contributing to 16 of Fiorentina’s 47 goals in Serie A so far.

While his potential departure would create a significant gap in their squad, Pruzzo feels his sale would be ‘acceptable’ at the figure set by his contract. He also insisted that the striker should show ‘gratitude’ towards the club that revived his career if he truly wants to stay.
“The Viola striker is going through an exceptional moment of form and is completing his maturation process,” Pruzzo told Lady Radio, as reported by Calciomercato.com.
“If a €52 offer were to come in for him, it would be an acceptable sale. It would make no sense to renew his contract again, since it was already signed a few months ago.

“In situations like this, it should be the player who shows gratitude towards Fiorentina, which gave him trust after two difficult seasons.”
Kean also scored his side’s winner during their 1-0 win over third-placed Atalanta last weekend.
