Daniele Adani feels that Inter Milan were “nervous” against Bologna, and “allowed” the Rossoblu to play their game.
The former Nerazzurri striker spoke on the Viva el Futbol podcast, via FCInter1908. He gave a scathing review of Inter’s performance in their 2-2 Serie A draw against Bologna.
This past week, Inter dropped points for the first time in Serie A since November.
The Nerazzurri went behind early on to Bologna. However, they were able to come back and go in 2-1 ahead at halftime.
However, in the second half the Rossoblu equalized. And from there, neither side managed to find a winner despite a few chances at both ends.
There was a sense that the 2-2 draw was a fair result.
Bologna had certainly had the better of the early exchanges. Then, Inter had taken some measure of control.
In the second half, the game became very stretched. But neither side really had full control, with both teams managing some dangerous counterattacks.
“Inter were affected by the match,” said former Inter striker Adani.
“Inzaghi had a sense that it would be difficult, because he was getting into it a lot on an emotional level right from the start.”
“And then after a great goal from a great team move and Lautaro finish, Inzaghi understood that it would be tough,” Adani argued.
“He felt that it would be difficult to get the result. And he knew that the opposition wouldn’t allow them anything.”
“The team failed to play their game as a result,” Adani said. “The way it usually does at the San Siro.”
“There can be many criticisms of individual players. But Inter didn’t dominate, and they allowed Bologna to play their game.”
“Inter were feeling frustration, and they were not free in playing their game.”
