Marco Parolo feels that Simone Inzaghi had a “desperate” look in yesterday’s 1-0 Juventus Serie A win over Inter Milan.
The former Lazio captain recalled the Nerazzurri captain’s facial expression during a moment when striker Mehdi Taremi lost the ball on Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi certainly had an emotional rollercoaster in yesterday’s Serie A clash with Juventus.
The first half of the match saw the coach’s Nerazzurri team play some very impressive football. But they were never able to make the best of the chances that they created.
There was evident tension and nerves for the Inter players. And for Inzaghi on the touchline.
The Derby d’Italia is always an extremely high-stakes fixture. The rivalry between Inter and Juventus is a bitter and historic one.
And then, there was the fact that Inter were playing to try and overtake Napoli at the top of the Serie A table.
Former Lazio captain Marco Parolo is a player who knows Simone Inzaghi well from their time together in the Italian capital.
“The way Inzaghi screamed after Taremi brought the ball forward and then lost it…” Parolo said. “You could almost sense that he was desperate.”

“Marcus Thuram let out a scream as well,” he continued.
“And then, in fact, Inzaghi put Thuram onto the pitch.”
“He wanted his player on the pitch. Even if he wasn’t at 100%.”
Parolo then argued that Inter “are lacking players who can back up Thuram and Lautaro.”
“There used to be Dzeko and Lukaku to alternate,” the former Biancocelesti midfielder noted.
And then Parolo also remarked that “Inzaghi seems to be feeling the Serie A title rivalry with Conte very deeply.”
