Former Manchester United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka is set to remain in the Premier League despite Burnley’s relegation.

United stint

Dubravka joined United in September 2022 on a season-long loan from Newcastle.

His competitive debut for the Red Devils came in November, featuring in a 4-2 victory over Aston Villa. Erik ten Hag was the manager at the time.

He made just two appearances for United, both of which arrived in the Carabao Cup. His last appearance was the 2-0 home win over Burnley, as United reached the quarter-finals of the competition.

Newcastle recalled him during the 2023 January window.

After Newcastle, Dubravka moved to Burnley in August 2025, signing a one-year contract. He was the undisputed number one between the sticks last season during their one-year stint back in the Premier League.

The Slovakian featured in 35 top-flight outings, keeping four clean sheets and conceding 71 goals. He was on the bench for the final three games of the campaign, with Max Weiss preferred instead.

Now, Romano has confirmed that Dubravka is set to join Tottenham Hotspur.

New club

Romano wrote on X earlier today, “Martin Dubravka to Tottenham, here we go!”

“Deal agreed for former Burnley and Man United goalkeeper to join Tottenham Hotspur.”

“Move completed today with Dubravka set to be backup GK at Spurs behind Kinski. Guglielmo Vicario to leave this summer.”

Although he had already left, Dubravka still earned a Carabao Cup winners’ medal after making two appearances for United during Ten Hag’s triumphant run.

Barring the arrival of a younger and more accomplished goalkeeper, Kinsky should continue as Tottenham’s first-choice shot-stopper. This means that Dubravka would serve a back-up role.
