The 17-year-old, who joined the club’s academy at the age of 13, has impressed across multiple levels this season, making 14 appearances in competitions ranging from the U18 Premier League to the UEFA Youth League and Premier League 2.
His development has also earned him recognition at international youth level with England with eight caps at U16 level and three at U17.
“Obviously it’s a great feeling to sign for this club,” said Julienne. “I’ve been here a while now, I joined when I was 13, so I’m happy that I’ve signed. The highlight so far has got to be winning the Liam Brady Cup with the under-16s! That was a tough tournament with teams like Flamengo, but we got through and won.”
Known for his versatility, Julienne has demonstrated his ability to excel in both midfield and full-back roles. However, he believes his greatest impact comes in the centre of the pitch. “I prefer playing in midfield. I think that’s where I’m best. But I’m happy to do whatever I need to do to help the team win. My strengths are getting out of tight spaces, finding the spare man, beating the press, and off the ball I’m aggressive. I like to get into challenges.”
Despite his confidence, Julienne remains grounded, recognising areas for improvement. “There are a lot of things I need to work on—shooting, maybe my understanding of the game at times—but you can always work on things to get better.”
Under the guidance of Adam Birchall, who replaced Jack Wilshere as the under-18s head coach earlier this season, Julienne has embraced the transition and high expectations. “It’s good, Birchy has high standards of us and makes sure we work hard every day and every match. I think the rest of the season will be good with him.”
