Three separate parties have shown that they can fund the Owls
Three interested parties have given proof to Sheffield Wednesday's administrators that they can fund the club, and more groups may come forward to match that.
BBC Sheffield has reported that the administrators have been given proof of £50 million in funds to take over the Hillsborough-based club, and that more interested groups may come forward following this.
The Owls have been in administration for a week now, after Dejphon Chansiri's decade-long reign ended last Friday.
It meant a 12-point deduction on the field, leaving Wednesday now cut adrift at the bottom of the Championship on -6 points, but it also allowed Owls fans to see light at the end of the tunnel in what has been a truly torrid year or so supporting the club.
This past week has seen plenty of good news surrounding potential buyers. However, this update may top the lot.

This past week has been a rare positive one for Wednesday, with a surge in support, as over £200,000 was spent in the club shop in just two days following the administration being announced, and the news surrounding players and staff being paid a day early being a cause for joy at Hillsborough.
Now, in even more exciting news, the BBC have stated that three different parties have shown that they can bring the sufficient funds of £50 million together to take over the club.
On October 27, it was revealed that the administrators at the club had "four or five serious bidders," and they had to show them they could fund the club over the next few years and pass the EFL's fit and proper persons test to be properly considered.
It seems three of those bidders have satisfied the first demand, and the BBC are hopeful that more interested groups will come forward too, as they know now how much will be required to satisfy the administrators.
There was hope that the Championship side could have new owners by the end of the year, and this is a big step towards making that a reality.

The news of there being multiple parties who could fund the club is incredible for Sheffield Wednesday fans, who believe now that they're one step closer to getting out on the other side of what has been a chaotic year.
Wage payments being delayed for five out of the final seven months of Dejphon Chansiri's ownership led to players departing the club for free, disgruntled staff and even more dejected fans. This past week has been a relief, and it only seems to be getting better.
