Pundit Lee Hendrie has offered his thoughts on Mikey Moore being linked with a move to The Hawthorns.

Pundit Lee Hendrie believes Tottenham Hotspur’s Mikey Moore is a signing West Brom have to make if they want to build a promotion push back to the Premier League.

The Baggies are already making inroads to get their summer business underway as Hearts forward Lawrence Shankland weighs up a move to the club.

New boss Ryan Mason is expected to try and use his Spurs connections to bolster his squad ahead of the upcoming season, and Albion have been rumoured to be interested in making a loan move for winger Mikey Moore.

Albion are expected to face competition for the 17-year-old though, with Football Insider claiming West Midlands rivals Birmingham City are also keen on making a swoop.

It would be a real coup to land an exciting youngster who is on the rise in the English game, and Lee Hendrie has offered his thoughts on a potential switch for Moore to the Black Country.

Lee Hendrie lauds Mikey Moore quality as West Brom register interest

Speaking exclusively to Football League World, pundit Lee Hendrie believes Mikey Moore is an exciting talent and is exactly what West Brom should be targeting to be successful in the second tier.

Hendrie said: “I think it speaks volumes of where Mikey Moore is at when big clubs in the Championship are looking at taking him on a loan deal to get some experience and regular game time.

“West Brom are a big football club with lots of potential, and I think that’s where they have to go down by getting loan players in.

“it doesn’t surprise me that bigger clubs in the Championship are looking to take him, and as I said previously, most teams in the Championship would want him because he’s got bags of potential, so I think it would be a great deal for West Brom.”

Mikey Moore would be a statement signing for West Brom

There’s no doubt West Brom need an influx of quality in the wide areas, with Tom Fellows expected to receive Premier League interest this summer, Mikey Johnston and Jed Wallace failing to step up, while Grady Diangana has departed B71.

Despite being unproven at this level, Moore will be raw and eager to impress as much as he can, with the Championship a growing hub for young footballers to make their names in the English game.

Meanwhile, the Baggies do stand a good chance of landing the attacker, with Ryan Mason knowing Moore well from his time working as part of Ange Postecoglou’s backroom staff.
