Lazio are keeping tabs on young Dutch winger Ruben Van Bommel who is one of the hottest young talents in the Eredivisie.
The 20-year-old has a familiar last name thanks to his father, Mark Van Bommel, who represented some of the biggest clubs in Europe, particularly Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Milan. But while the 48-year-old was a holding midfielder, his son is a left winger blessed with an impressive physique.
The youngster has been honing his skills at AZ Alkmaar since 2023. This season, he cemented himself as a protagonist with the first team, making 34 appearances across all competitions, while scoring 10 goals and providing six assists.
We can reveal that over the past few days, Bologna have been trying to acquire the services of the young Van Bommel, but have yet to find a breakthrough, which leaves an opening for Lazio who have also been following the player in recent weeks.
However, the issue for the Aquile is that Van Bommel would cost a transfer fee of €15-17 million, and they first have to unblock the much-maligned liquidity index by selling one or more players. At this stage, Loum Tchaouna remains the main candidate to leave, but as we told you in recent days, the Frenchman is not in advanced talks with any suitor at the moment.
