Exclusive names “leading candidate” already in place for Chelsea job; Eghbali is a fan | OneFootball

Chelsea need a new manager, and TalkSport have named Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola as the leading candidate.

Chelsea today sacked Liam Rosenior, and talk has already turned to who his replacement might be.

Alex Crook of TalkSport and Ben Jacobs are both well connected and Chelsea, and have tied their flag to the Andoni Iraola mast.

The Bournemouth coach has already announced he will be leaving the Cherries at the end of the season after a really successful spell on the South Coast, and they name him as the “leading candidate” to take over at Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The Basque is apparently “highly regarded” by Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali. Iraola has a number of top clubs after him, and has already turned down Crystal Palace.

Other names in the mix for Chelsea job next season

Eddie Howe is mentioned as another potential candidate – a far less exciting or interesting one, frankly. Julian Nagelsmann’s name also comes up, as it always does when Chelsea need a manager. It feels like a non-starter.

Iraola would be a huge gamble, but at this rate we may as well take a punt on someone interesting. The safe bets are hardly working out for us either.
