According to an exclusive from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, there has been a verbal agreement reached in a big bit of Chelsea transfer news.
And what makes this even more intriguing is that the news and move is for this January transfer window and not the summer.
It’s all going off this Thursday lunchtime actually. We’ve just put out a report from Matt Law of The Telegraph saying that Chelsea have now made the decision to sign a new centre back this window, something that they were initially going to hold off on until the summer, as they were trying to do with any big transfer moves they had planned.
But they want to back Liam Rosenior and give him a ball playing centre back in order to help him play his style of football and give him every chance to succeed at the club.
Within the same report, there have been two names mentioned who they could look to try and sign.
Law states that a central defender who can play out from the back would be a big addition for Rosenior. Chelsea have been linked with Rennes centre-back Jérémy Jacquet and Jacobo Ramón, who only joined Como from Real Madrid last summer.

And literally moments after this report came out, Romano had a big one of his own to tell us about!
He posted on his X account:
“Leeds United reach verbal agreement to sign Facundo Buonanotte! Chelsea to interrupt loan move from Brighton, leaving #CFC to return to #BHAFC and then join Leeds.”
He’s not been great for Chelsea, let’s be honest. It was a bit of a pointless move. And at least now he can go and get more minutes playing elsewhere, because he rarely featured for us!
