Fahd El Khoumisti fired a hat-trick in Caen’s 4-0 win over Valenciennes on Friday, making the 33-year-old the all-time leading scorer in France’s third tier.
The competition has just launched under its new name, Ligue 3, and Caen began in style, with El Khoumisti settling straight in after years as a National regular.
Now at Caen, the striker echoed a mantra popularised by the club’s owner in 2021, responding to any discontent with a treble.
Across spells with Orléans, Concarneau, Le Mans and now Caen, he has scored 88 goals at this level between National and Ligue 3.
That takes him past Kévin Lefaix’s 87, which came in 174 matches, and El Khoumisti reached his mark in 166 appearances.
