RB Leipzig remain pointless in this season’s edition of the Champions League after suffering a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Celtic on Tuesday night. Nicolas-Gerrit Kühn (24), formerly of the East German club, downed his former employers with a brace as Leipzig looked lifeless.
After taking the lead, Leipzig missed chances to make it 2-0 before Celtic scored three unanswered goals as the Saxony club continue to falter. After losing their unbeaten start in the Bundesliga at the weekend to a sub-par Borussia Dortmund, it now means that Leipzig have three defeats in four games in the league and Champions League.
Speaking after Leipzig’s defeat at Parkhead, Rose told reporters: “As a team, we are currently not able to get back to our level. It is about pulling ourselves together so that we can do it again.”
Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer also addressed the club’s recent form, adding: “We absolutely do not need to sugarcoat anything because that is not our aim. I hope that everyone has understood what that basically means,” before stating: “A good balance must be found.”
