Arsenal fan Raf shared pictures from the Emirates Stadium on Thursday, confirming the club have installed new electronic advertising boards at the bottom of the Club Level tier.
The club have had electronic advertising boards pitchside for a long time now, but the upper tiers have always just had fixed banners.

Though the primary purpose of the new boards is likely just to make more advertising money, it does raise the potential for the club to use them for other opportunities.
The boards could be used aesthetically, flashing red and white after a goal, for example. They could also be used to confirm the players involved in substitutions, or to provide a clock to those who can’t see the one at the Clock End.
Last season, most of the digital clocks around the stands had either been removed or were broken and just showed black screens (as shown in the background of the picture below).

The downside of the change is the removal of all the flags for the supporters’ clubs, which had decorated some of the same hoardings before the new installation.
That’s certainly a shame, and ideally they’ll be moved somewhere else where they can still be seen.
