Michael "Little Mick" Hewitt, a Leeds United supporter, has been found safe and well in Barcelona after going missing on 21 June.

His brother Gary Hewitt confirmed the development on Wednesday morning in a social media post, adding that Little Mick had been unaware of the widespread search.

The 65-year-old had travelled from Leeds to Barcelona last week, where he was due to catch a connecting flight to Boston for England's group-stage match against Ghana.

After relatives had no contact for 10 days, he was reported missing and appeals were shared widely by the media and across the football community.

Gary said the family had hoped for a simple, happy resolution, would provide more details once authorities were notified and normality returned, and he thanked everyone who helped.
