As in previous seasons, we’ll highlight 10 players to consider adding to your Fantasy Bundesliga team ahead of each matchday.
This season, however, we’re not just focusing on differentials, but will provide general recommendations ahead of each matchday.
Here are our picks for Matchday 8:
Jonas Urbig, FC Bayern (Goalkeeper, 4.52M, 2%)
Bild reported on Thursday that Jonas Urbig is expected to get a rare start against Borussia Mönchengladbach. He may not get to pick up that many points from saved shots against Gladbach, but nevertheless deserves a mention given his low price.
Vladimir Coufal, Hoffenheim (Defender, 7.23M, 8%)
The Czech right-back has been in excellent form, averaging 208 points over his last five games. He has either scored or assisted in three of his last four matches and now faces a struggling Heidenheim side at home.
Luka Vuskovic, Hamburger SV (Defender, 10.8M, 14%)
HSV have looked much improved recently, thanks in large part to Luka Vuskovic. Since his loan move from Tottenham, the centre-back has stabilised the defence and translated strong performances into Fantasy points, averaging nearly 300 in his last four games.
Nico Schlotterbeck, Borussia Dortmund (Defender, 13.77M, 5%)
Dortmund have a favorable run of fixtures, facing Köln, Augsburg, and HSV next. Schlotterbeck has been consistent since returning from injury, averaging 217 points in his last four games. His high pass and duel involvement gives him a solid floor.
Jonas Hofmann, Bayer Leverkusen (Midfielder, 5.08M, 0%)
Jonas Hofmann was handed a surprise start last week and impressed, scoring 185 points. The former Gladbach star and long-time Fantasy Bundesliga favourite missed Leverkusen’s midweek clash with PSG, as he isn’t in their Champions League squad. His strong performance last week, combined with fresh legs, makes a second consecutive league start highly likely.
Christoph Baumgartner, RB Leipzig (Midfielder, 9.67M, 12%)
Baumgartner was recommended last week and didn’t disappoint, scoring a brace. That was the second consecutive haul from the Austrian international, and it’s not too late to pick him up, as Leipzig now face an Augsburg side that have shown defensive vulnerabilities this season.
Ritsu Doan, Eintracht Frankfurt (Midfielder, 16.47M, 37%)
Doan’s recent Fantasy returns have been underwhelming, but now isn’t the time to sell the Japanese star winger. After a Champions League rest, he faces St. Pauli, Heidenheim and Mainz in upcoming fixtures.
Christian Kofane, Bayer Leverkusen (Striker, 3.33M, 4%)
Kofane has been a big hit since Patrik Schick’s injury, scoring in consecutive Bundesliga games. His price has risen, but at just 3.33M, he remains affordable and is expected to start again against Freiburg, with Schick still not fully fit.
Can Uzun, Eintracht Frankfurt (Striker, 11. 93M, 36%)
Like Doan, Uzun hasn't looked at his best lately and was rested against Liverpool. He could return to form against a St. Pauli side, who have lost four games in a row.
Andrej Kramaric, Hoffenheim (Striker, 12.13M, 2%)
There’s been plenty of talk about Hoffenheim's young attackers Tim Lemperle, Bazoumana Touré and Fisnik Asllani, but not much about Andrej Kramaric - until last week. The Croatian veteran scored and assisted, racking up 312 points. He’ll look to continue his form against Heidenheim at home and represents an excellent low-ownership differential with just 2% ownership.
