Valencia end their season at Mestalla against Barça with a Conference League place at stake. Barça arrive with the job done, crowned champions more than a week ago.
AS says up to eight players reach the end of loans or contracts. Julen Agirrezabala, Unai Núñez, Largie Ramazani and Lucas Beltrán return to their clubs, none has an offer to extend, though a long summer could yet change that.
Thierry Correia, Eray Cömert, Guido Rodríguez and Renzo Saravia will be free agents if Valencia do not act. Thierry will not renew and must find a new team after seven seasons hit by injuries.
Cömert is, for now, the only Valencia player set for the World Cup. He impressed in the run-in and has Bundesliga interest, and Valencia have asked him to wait as an offer to stay could follow. He cannot say goodbye on the pitch, he is suspended after his red card in San Sebastián.
Guido is the standout case. Signed in winter, he has raised the level, and the club have contacted him about extending, but it depends on him accepting Mestalla’s terms.
Saravia arrived in February once the window had shut to cover right-back after injuries to Foulquier and Thierry. After a slow start he has performed well when used and could be a sound option for next season.
Saturday could also mark final outings for others expected to leave this summer, including Raba, Santamaría, Danjuma and Almeida. Diakhaby and Foulquier, currently unregistered, may also be saying goodbye.
