Yet another La Liga matchday arrives for FC Barcelona as they prepare for another home outing. With CA Osasuna set to visit the Spotify Camp Nou, Hansi Flick’s team will need to do whatever it takes to secure all three points.

Having managed to get a big win over Eintracht Frankfurt in their previous game, the Catalan giants come into this match in good form. However, that still does not mean they should underestimate their opponents here.

Match overview:

Currently sitting at the top of the La Liga table, Barcelona are flying high domestically. Despite previously trailing Real Madrid, Hansi Flick’s side has since gone on a strong run of form in the league and are now four points clear at the summit.

However, that is exactly why they cannot afford to become complacent and risk dropping points at any stage without good cause. Considering the quality of players at his disposal and the squad depth available, the German coach must ensure that his side secures a win here.

Across their last five games, Barça have recorded four wins and just one loss. Moreover, their last four matches have all been victories in La Liga, with 13 goals scored and nine conceded across the last five games. Not exactly an ideal goal difference, but a positive one nonetheless.

Osasuna, on the other hand, are currently 15th in the league and have been underwhelming in La Liga so far. However, across their most recent outings, they have begun to rediscover some form.

Their last two matches have been wins in La Liga and the Copa del Rey, although they registered a draw and two losses in the three games prior to that. Moreover, they have scored 10 goals across those last five games and conceded nine in return.

Thus, at least on paper, Barça appear to be the clear favourites heading into this game. However, they could slip up if they underestimate their opposition, and Flick must ensure that such a situation does not arise.
