The ball is finally rolling again at FC Bayern! After the first training sessions at Säbener Straße, the Bavarians play their first pre-season friendly already at SV Wehen Wiesbaden on Saturday 25 July at 15:30 CEST. The game forms part of the celebrations for the 100-year anniversary of the third-tier club from the Hesse state capital.

It’s almost exactly two months since FC Bayern crowned an impressive and entertaining 2025/26 season with a great success: the DFB Cup win in Berlin, which secured the double for Vincent Kompany and his team. They returned to training this week at Säbener Straße, which is currently being rebuilt, and four sessions have taken place so far following the performance tests. Rounding off the first week of pre-season is the visit to Wiesbaden on Saturday.
The squad will of course be significantly different to the one that finished the season in May. That’s primarily due to the World Cup, in which no fewer than 17 Bayern players were involved. Key players like Harry Kane and Manuel Neuer, or new signings Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown will join training at a later date following a well-earned break. The squad against Wiesbaden will therefore be filled with several reserve and Campus players, who have already been training with the likes of Tom Bischof and Arijon Ibrahimović during the week. Serge Gnabry and Lennart Kart, meanwhile, are continuing their rehab at Säbener Straße.
Bayern are travelling to Hesse on Saturday on the occasion of Wehen Wiesbaden’s 100th anniversary. Although both clubs boast a long history, there has only been one competitive meeting between them – and it wasn’t long ago. Last season, the two sides met in the same place in the first round of the DFB Cup, with Bayern winning 3-2 in a tight contest and taking the first step on the way to cup glory.
SVWW finished in a solid eighth place in a strong 3. Liga in the campaign just gone. The new season for Wiesbaden starts already on 8 August, meaning they’re considerably further in their pre-season than the visitors from Munich. Coach Daniel Scherning’s squad includes a former Bayern player in Justin Janitzek: the 22-year-old centre-back came through the FCB Campus.
