Bayern forward Klara Bühl crowned an excellent 12 months by being name the fourth-best women’s player in the world. The 25-year-old had played a key role in Bayern’s historic first domestic double and was also crucial to Germany’s efforts at the summer’s Euros. Aitana Bonmati took the award with 196 points, ahead of Alessia Russo (70) and Mariona Caldentey (55). Chloe Kelly, Temwa Chawinga, Leah Williamson, Barbra Banda and Ewa Pajor complete the top 10.

Tanikawa has started 17 games in all competitions for Bayern this season, scoring six goals, including in the recent Champions League wins over Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.

Whole team recognised

As well as the individual awards, the whole Bayern team had their achievements recognised by coming third in the best club category behind Barcelona and Corinthians.
