Sebastiaan Bornauw could be offered a swift route back to the Bundesliga. Kicker reports the Leeds United defender is a candidate for FC Koln this summer, less than a year after his Elland Road arrival.
The Belgian signed a four-year deal last summer and was followed by fellow centre-back Jaka Bijol as Leeds strengthened Daniel Farke's defence. Fitness issues have hampered him, with four Premier League starts coming amid injuries elsewhere and five late cameos of one minute plus added time.
Interest also surfaced in January, including from Germany, but Leeds quickly shut down any exit while still fighting to stay up and with Joe Rodon injured.
Bornauw has three years left on his contract, so any decision rests largely with Leeds and there is no particular need to sell.
Koln are planning a defensive reset and, like Leeds, have virtually secured another top-flight season, six points clear with two games left. Bornauw previously made 57 appearances and scored seven goals for the Billy Goats between 2018 and 2021.
