FC Porto mark 70 years since first Taça de Portugal win over Torreense | OneFootball

FC Porto have marked the 70th anniversary of their first Taça de Portugal, days after Torreense’s historic triumph in the same competition.

In a post on X, the club recalled beating Torreense 2-0 at Jamor on 27 May 1956 to lift the cup.

Hernâni scored both goals, with the team managed by Brazilian coach Dorival Yustrich.

Torreense overcame Sporting 2-1 after extra time at Jamor on Sunday, becoming the first II Liga side to win the trophy.

Porto’s message used the #NesteDia tag to underline the anniversary.
