FC Porto return to Olival with eight injured and 10 on international duty | OneFootball

After a week off, FC Porto returned to training at Olival on Monday morning, holding a combined session with the B team due to widespread absences. According to O Jogo, both squads were short of players.

Diogo Costa (Portugal), Jan Bednarek, Jakub Kiwior and Oskar Pietuszewski (Poland), Victor Froholdt (Denmark), Inbeom Hwang (South Korea), Pablo Rosario (Dominican Republic), Santiago Gimenez (Mexico), João Afonso (Portugal under-21) and Dominik Prpic (Croatia under-21) are away on international duty.

The medical list comprises João Costa, Nehuen Pérez, Seko Fofana and Gabri Veiga, all on treatment and gym work, plus Martim Fernandes, Zaidu, Vasco Sousa and André Miranda on conditioned training. There was also a note of Zaidu’s progression to conditioned work and of Nehuén Pérez moving to treatment and gym.

The B side are likewise depleted, with Trafim Melnichenka (Belarus), Domingos Muxito (Angola under-23), Gonçalo Ribeiro and Martim Cunha (Portugal under-20), and Salvador Gomes, Bernardo Lima, Mateus Mide, Duarte Cunha, Cardoso Varela and Eduardo Ferreira (Portugal under-19) called up. Their medical list includes Emanuel Benjamín and André Oliveira, both in treatment, Brayan Caicedo on conditioned training and Mame Niang receiving treatment for a left leg injury.

Francesco Farioli and João Brandão will hold another joint session tomorrow morning. Porto are scheduled to face Deportivo da Corunha at Riazor on Friday at 18h00.
