Daniel Beichler is no longer coach of FC Red Bull Salzburg. The 37-year-old Austrian was relieved of his duties today – one day after the 1-3 defeat in the final match of the season against TSV Hartberg.
Beichler had been with our Red Bulls since mid-February and was in charge for 14 matches. During this time, he led our team to a disappointing third place in the league with an average of 1.15 points per game.
In addition to Beichler, assistant coach Raphael Ikache, who will return to the Red Bull Academy, and Zlatko Junuzovic are also leaving the FC Red Bull Salzburg coaching staff.
Unfortunately, the time under Daniel Beichler as head coach did not go as we had hoped. We know that he took over the team in a difficult situation and tried hard to turn things around. In the end, neither the results nor the team's performance met our expectations, which is why we now have to take this step. We want to start the new season with a completely new sporting leadership, which is why we made this decision quickly, yet after careful consideration and analysis. We would like to thank Daniel Beichler and Zlatko Junuzovic for their commitment and wish them all the best for their future!
