Real Madrid star Federico Valverde has this week broken his silence on his recent falling out with teammate Aurélien Tchouaméni.
Midfielders Tchouaméni and Valverde of course grabbed the headlines across world football earlier this month.
This came after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the pair had been involved in a physical altercation at Real Madrid’s training ground.
The face-off culminated in Valverde being taken to hospital, ruled out of action for two weeks with a head injury.
Both were subsequently punished by the club, on what was widely considered to be a shameful day in the storied history of Real Madrid.
And as alluded to above, this week, Valverde has provided his take on the incident.
Speaking during an interview with Carve Deportiva, as cited by Fabrizio Romano, the Uruguayan opted for a positive outlook, assuring that the setback will only improve his capabilities as a leader:
“I feel good. I had the support and the love of many people, the fans, the club.
“Sometimes you have to overcome these small obstacles. All of this will make me a better captain in the next years.”
