Felipe Longo makes 2026 Corinthians debut in place of Hugo Souza in 3-0 win | OneFootball

Corinthians beat Capivariano 3-0 as Felipe Longo made his first appearance of 2026, deputising for Hugo Souza.

According to Meu Timao, Souza was rested ahead of the derby with Palmeiras and Longo has been his understudy since last year.

It was a quiet evening for the goalkeeper, who kept a clean sheet, with one Capivariano effort ruled out for offside. He made one save and two clearances.

This was his first outing in the Campeonato Paulista. He joined the senior squad at the start of 2025, debuting in a 3-1 loss to Santos in the Brasileiro, and has featured six further times, with three wins and four defeats, covering for Souza during injuries and Brazil call-ups.

Corinthians have an agreement to sign João Ricardo on loan from Fortaleza. He is recovering from surgery on his left shoulder, and the contract is scheduled for March, subject to final medical clearance.

The goalkeeping group also includes Kauê and Hugo Souza, who should return in goal. Matheus Donelli has agreed a loan to Shabab Al Ahli in the United Arab Emirates. Corinthians host Palmeiras in round seven at 20:30 at Neo Química Arena.
