Felix Horn Myhre has signed a three-year deal with West Bromwich Albion, attracted by James Morrison’s vision for the club. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 27-year-old Norway midfielder joins from Brann for an initial £2.5 million, a fee that could reach £3.1 million, with Elche beaten to his signature.

Morrison first noticed him while studying clips of Aune Heggebo, who moved to The Hawthorns 13 months earlier. Myhre said the manager’s presentation and the chance to embrace a new culture convinced him, and he is eager to start.

He will train with Heggebo and his new team-mates this week and could feature in Saturday’s EFL Cup first-round tie at Rotherham.

Capped seven times by Norway, Myhre was considered unfortunate to miss their World Cup squad and became an icon over five years at Brann. After leaving Vålerenga he shifted from right-back to midfield, driving promotion, Norwegian Cup success and European football, and scored 32 goals in 181 appearances.

He is Albion’s seventh summer signing. Morrison remains keen to add a winger and the club could still be open to recruiting another striker.
