Fernando announces retirement, says he owes his career to Porto and Jesualdo Ferreira

Fernando has announced his retirement from playing, closing a memorable career led by Porto and decorated with titles in England, Türkiye and Spain.
According to O Jogo, the midfielder, known as O Polvo, has looked back on a remarkable journey with Porto at its core.
He arrived at the club as a youngster, then spent a loan spell with Estrela da Amadora to gain experience.
On returning, he became an undisputed figure in midfield, thriving under Jesualdo Ferreira, enjoying a dream season with André Villas-Boas, and continuing through Vítor Pereira.
Reflecting on his path, he said he owes his career to Porto and to Jesualdo Ferreira.
