Boca have received formal approval from Ferrosur to build four access towers over the railway as part of plans to expand La Bombonera.
According to LaNumer12.com.ar, a letter dated 12 March 2026 confirms the company received the club’s preliminary technical documents on 3 March for works on railway land at Casa Amarilla, operated by Ferrosur Roca.
The scheme comprises four towers with lifts and stairs to serve entry to the Alberto J. Armando stadium, next to the station’s main line. They would connect to the stands via footbridges over the main and auxiliary tracks.
After reviewing the papers, Ferrosur concluded the proposal presents no complication for railway operations. The section to be occupied lacks railway utility beyond a crossing siding, which would not be affected.
The response was read on Boca’s official channel, with Juan Román Riquelme present and host Emiliano Pazos outlining the contents.
With Ferrosur’s sign-off, Boca must now await authorisation from the Comisión Nacional de Regulación del Transporte, which depends on the National Transport Secretariat, to proceed with the towers.
The project targets a capacity above 80,000, but without the towers a fourth tier would be practically impossible due to access issues.
