The Fédération française de football has unveiled a new crest, a day after appointing Zinédine Zidane as head coach of the men’s national team.
The previous elongated-hexagon badge is retired, as is the white once used for the historic cockerel and the word France. The federation said the refresh is designed to modernise its visual identity, suit digital, marketing and event use, and provide a common graphic framework across all national teams.
The new emblem adopts gold for the stars, the cockerel, and the lettering FFF and France.
Red remains only on the bird’s comb and wattle, set against shades of dark blue in the background.
The cockerel is rendered with finer detail than before.
