Fifa transfer bans hit Palmeiras rivals as Danilo pursuit continues | OneFootball

Palmeiras are pushing to sign Botafogo midfielder Danilo, while state rivals Corinthians, Santos and São Paulo are unable to register players following Fifa transfer bans for overdue payments.

According to Nosso Palestra, Corinthians have amassed four Fifa transfer bans in under two months, São Paulo were punished over an unpaid instalment for Marcos Antônio, and Santos were penalised for a debt to Monaco relating to Jean Lucas.

With healthy finances, Palmeiras remain focused on landing the midfielder. Danilo returned on Monday 20 after a break following the World Cup.

Botafogo want him available to face Cruzeiro on Sunday 26 in the Campeonato Brasileiro.

If he plays, the academy graduate would reach 13 Campeonato Brasileiro games, which would block a move to Palmeiras, so negotiations would need to accelerate this week.
