FIFA upholds Michael Olise yellow card from World Cup last 16 | OneFootball

FIFA has upheld Michael Olise’s yellow card from France’s last-16 win over Paraguay, despite an appeal from the FFF.

Booked in stoppage time after an altercation with Matias Galarza, Olise did not make contact, and head coach Didier Deschamps said on Wednesday morning that the decision to keep the caution stands.

France edged Paraguay 1-0 on Saturday to set up a World Cup quarter-final against Morocco on Thursday.

The Bayern player is one booking from suspension and would miss any semi-final if he is cautioned again against Morocco.

If he avoids a yellow against the Atlas Lions and France go through, his disciplinary count will be reset for the semi-finals, as with all other players.
