Champions Argentina kickstart the defence of their FIFA World Cup 26™ crown when they take on Algeria in Kansas City Stadium.
Here is everything you need to know about the holders' first fixture.
Lionel Scaloni's side start their quest to become the first team since Brazil in 1962 to successfully defend their title.
It is a side packed with attacking talents such as Julián Álvarez, Nico Paz and Lautaro Martínez, spearheaded, of course, by captain Lionel Messi, who is set to appear in his final World Cup™.
Facing them are an Algeria side who are back on this stage for the first time in 12 years after finishing seven points ahead of their closest challengers in qualifying to make a resounding return.
Coached by former Lazio and Switzerland boss Vladimir Petković, they will pose a threat to anyone in the group and among their more recognisable faces are former Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez, who at the age of 35 is still capable of moments of magic.

After taking home the Young Player of the Tournament award at the last FIFA World Cup™ in Qatar, the onus will be on Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernández to deliver once again.
The Chelsea man has made big improvements to his game in the years since then and will be a key cog in the Albiceleste machine this summer.
For Algeria, Mahrez may be the big name but Amine Gouiri of Marseille is a very exciting talent whose quality on the break will trouble all opponents at this tournament.
Former Lyon starlet Houssem Aouar is also among their ranks, as is Manchester City defender Rayan Aït-Nouri, while between the posts aiming to keep the opposition out they have Luca Zidane, son of France legend Zinedine Zidane.

As if anyone needed a reminder, Messi sent out a warning a month ago with Inter Miami that he's still a massive danger in front of goal.
