Côte d'Ivoire and Norway clash with a place in the FIFA World Cup 26™ Round of 16 up for grabs in what looks like a potential standout match of the tournament.

Both sides finished second in their respective groups having won two of their three games.

Côte d'Ivoire kicked off their campaign with a dramatic 1-0 win victory over Ecuador with Amad Diallo scoring the winner in the 90th minute. They followed that up with an an equally frantic 2-1 loss to Germany that ruled out a top-placed finish. The Ivorians sealed a first-ever qualification for the knockout stages with a 2-0 win over Curaçao.

Norway, who are competing in their first World Cup since 1998, got off to a flying start, beating Iraq 4-1 before sealing qualification with a thrilling 3-2 win over Senegal. Ståle Solbakken decided to make 10 changes for their final group game with France, resulting in a 4--1 defeat. Erling Haaland sat out that game but already has four goals in the competition.

For Norway, Erling Haaland has been the standout as usual, marking his World Cup debut with a brace against Iraq and earning himself an Attacking Score of 7.6 in the FIFA Power Rankings - powered by Aramco.

At the other end of the pitch, Kristoffer Ajer has impressed so far and earned a 7.26 Defending Score in that same first group win.

Amad Diallo is arguably Côte d'Ivoire's biggest attacking threat in this tournament as reflected by his remarkable 9.11 Attacking Score in a match-winning display against Ecuador.

Côte d'Ivoire are playing in their first World Cup knockout game. They will be looking to become just the third African nation to win their first knockout game after Cameroon in 1990 and Senegal in 2002, both of whom needed extra-time.
This is Norway's third World Cup knockout games but they are still waiting for their first win. Both of their previous defeats were 2-1 defeats to Italy, in 1938 and 1998.
