Filipe Luís and Rodrigo Caio have teamed up off the pitch, swapping football for tennis during their downtime since leaving Flamengo.

According to Coluna Do Fla, Filipe Luís shared a photo with Rodrigo Caio on a clay court, both holding rackets. He added football and tennis ball emojis, plus a heart.

Their partnership dates back to their playing days, and in 2019 they were part of one of Flamengo’s most successful sides.

Filipe Luís stayed longer, retiring in Flamengo colours at the end of 2023. Rodrigo Caio left when his contract was not renewed in December 2023.

After hanging up their boots, both returned to work at the club. In 2024, the former left-back began coaching, moving from the under-17s and under-20s to the first team. In 2025, the former centre-back was chosen to work on set-piece training for the former Flamengo head coach.

The report also said Filipe Luís is poised to return to management in Europe, with Monaco finalising details to announce his appointment. It remains to be seen whether Rodrigo Caio will join him.
