Real Betis have ‘finalised’ the signing of Junior Firpo, who will arrive at the club when his Leeds United deal ends at the end of the month.
The left-back’s contract at Elland Road is due to expire, but Leeds have been holding talks with him about keeping him on a fresh deal.
Firpo though has had interest from a host of clubs and his former side Real Betis have been leading the hunt to sign him.
They have now, according to Spanish outlet ABC, ‘finalised’ his arrival and Firpo will join when his deal at Leeds runs out.
He will join the Spanish side on a three-year contract.
Leeds will need to enter the market to bring in another left-back and they hold an interest in Aston Villa’s Alex Moreno.
He spent the season on loan at Nottingham Forest and is again expected to depart Villa Park, with several sides keen.
One of those sides are Real Betis who, despite wrapping up the arrival of Firpo, still want to sign an experienced left-back.
Leeds and Real Betis have been further entwined with the Spanish club looking to sign striker Mateo Joseph from the Whites.
Joseph started the recent season as Daniel Farke’s first choice striker, but he struggled to score on a consistent basis and found himself dropped in favour of Joel Piroe.
The Spaniard remains a highly rated prospect though and Real Betis are keen to secure his signature.
