Fiorentina meet for Thorstvedt as Sassuolo set €15m asking price | OneFootball

Fiorentina are set to meet with Sassuolo tomorrow to discuss reuniting midfielder Kristian Thorstvedt with coach Fabio Grosso, despite Besiktas interest.

The Norway international is currently participating in the World Cup with his teammates, preparing for Sunday’s Round of 16 showdown with Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil.

He has flourished at Sassuolo under Grosso, but as the coach left for a new experience at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, it is possible they will be working together again this term.

Sky Sport Italia and Tuttomercatoweb confirm a meeting is scheduled for Friday between Sassuolo and Fiorentina to discuss the terms of the deal.

Viola director Fabio Paratici already sat down with Thorstvedt’s agent to work on personal terms, but the two clubs are the ones who need to reach an agreement.

The asking price is reported to be around €15m, but Fiorentina could potentially reduce the cost by including Simon Sohm as part of the exchange.

Sohm is back in Florence following his loan experience at Bologna.
