According to Fiorentinauno.com, Fiorentina are weighing a move for Lazio right-back Manuel Lazzari, with new head coach Fabio Grosso eyeing him as an option if Dodo departs this summer.

At Lazio, Lazzari has slipped down the pecking order under Gennaro Gattuso. The coach plans to integrate Romano Floriani Mussolini as Adam Marusic’s deputy, with a chance to earn a starting berth.

Although the 32-year-old is contracted until June 2027, his exit is expected in this window. He has been linked with Monza, and there has been talk of Sassuolo reviving interest, while Florence is viewed as a possibility.

Fiorentina would like to replace Dodo with a younger profile, ideally alongside an experienced right-back. Lazzari can operate as a full-back in a four and as a wing-back in a three.

Lazio would be satisfied with a €3 million fee for Lazzari, given his age and contract situation. That figure is close to what they are expected to collect from Alessio Romagnoli’s sale to Al-Sadd and Ivan Provedel’s imminent switch to Inter Milan.

While modest, such sums would help unlock their market, which has been restricted to a net-zero approach, and ease the wage bill.
