First Test Match in Asia: Here’s How FC Bayern Will Line Up Against Jeju SK | OneFootball

FC Bayern is currently on its Asian tour and has stopped in South Korea. There, the team will play its first friendly of the tour against Jeju SK FC today, Tuesday, at 1 p.m. German time. 

After the record champions have already played matches against SV Wehen Wiesbaden and Rottach-Egern, the next preseason game is now on the schedule, before they face a real test against Aston Villa on Friday.

Bayern also has sporting ambitions for this match against Jeju. After all, the players want to get into their rhythm, especially those who have only recently rejoined team training.

Bayern are still missing several players, including Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Dayot Upamecano, who were away for a long time at the World Cup. Players who were recently injured and are still recovering are also not yet back in the lineup. These include Serge Gnabry and Lennart Karl.

Of course, this also means that some young players have the chance to make a name for themselves on this summer tour and follow in the footsteps of Karl, who performed so well in preseason last season that he was able to secure a spot on the first-team roster right away.

Coach Kompany has now named his starting lineup for the match against the South Korean club. Jonas Urbig is in goal, with a back four featuring the established Min-jae Kim and Hiroki Ito. Vincent Manuba plays right back, while Filip Pavic partners Kim in central defense.

In midfield are Joao Palhinha, Tom Bischof, and Bara Sapoko Ndiaye. Guido Della Rovere and Felipe Chavez play in more attacking roles, while young Bastian Assomo leads the attack.

The options on the bench are particularly notable. Among others, Jonathan Tah, Nathaniel Brown, Joshua Kimmich, Josip Stanisic, Aleksander Pavlovic, and Luis Diaz are on the bench.
