Germany will play its final group stage match at the World Cup tonight. National team coach Julian Nagelsmann is counting on five FC Bayern players in his starting lineup.
Today marks the German national team’s third and final group stage match at the 2026 World Cup. At 9 p.m., the DFB squad will face Ecuador in New Jersey. Following two wins against Curaçao and the Ivory Coast, Julian Nagelsmann’s team is aiming to top the group.
Compared to the 2-1 win over the Ivory Coast, the national team coach is making two changes to his starting lineup. Nathaniel Brown and the injured Nico Schlotterbeck are out of the starting lineup, with David Raum starting at left back and Antonio Rüdiger in central defense.
With Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Jonathan Tah, Aleksandar Pavlovic, and Jamal Musiala, five Bayern Munich pros are once again on the field from the start.
As expected, Manuel Neuer is in goal; he made World Cup history against Ivory Coast and became the goalkeeper with the most World Cup appearances.
In front of him, captain Joshua Kimmich defends on the right side. Antonio Rüdiger and Jonathan Tah form the center-back pairing, while David Raum takes over the left side of the defense.

In central midfield, Nagelsmann is once again relying on Aleksandar Pavlovic and Felix Nmecha. Leon Goretzka, as has been the case recently, will have to settle for a spot on the bench for now.
Up front, the German national team coach is also relying on his tried-and-true lineup. Leroy Sané and Florian Wirtz will play on the wings, while Jamal Musiala will operate in attacking midfield behind Kai Havertz.
Here’s a look at Germany’s starting lineup against Ecuador:
Neuer – Kimmich, Rüdiger, Tah, Raum – Pavlovic, Nmecha – Sané, Musiala, Wirtz – Havertz.
