Five free agents Walsall could target this summer | OneFootball

ExpressAndStar.com reports that Lee Grant said this week that Walsall still have work to do this summer, with 14 exits and five arrivals. Here are five free agents they could consider.

Myles Roberts made 43 appearances for Walsall in League Two last season. He kept 13 clean sheets in 46 games and has since been released by Watford. With Jenson Kilroy the only senior keeper after Sam Hornby joined Hednesford Town, cover is needed.

Tom Bradshaw hit 40 goals for Walsall between 2014 and 2016 before spells with Barnsley and Millwall. He returned to Barnsley on loan from Oxford United in the second half of last season, scoring three times. Recently released by Oxford, a reunion would be a gamble, though some hope a Bescot return could revive him.

Midfielder Evan Khouri rejected a new deal at Grimsby Town and is available after four goals and two assists in 42 appearances last term. Walsall have already added Lewis Simper, Sven Sprangler and loanee Isaac Moore, so midfield may not be urgent.

Defender Will Wright left Swindon Town this summer after two seasons and is on the market. The 29-year-old won promotion to League One with Crawley Town in 2024 and was Swindon’s player of the season in 2024-25, delivering 10 goals and eight assists in 95 games.

Winger Omari Patrick has 21 goals in 92 Tranmere outings across the past two seasons. He posted 19 direct goal involvements in 2024-25, 13 goals and six assists, and has scored in three of nine meetings with Walsall.
