The Egyptian also reached 30 goal involvements for the season in just 18 games, another divisional record, and provided more goals and assists in all competitions (52) than any other player in Europe’s top five leagues in 2024.

Salah is showing no sign of slowing down and there are some huge records well within reach for the 32-year-old this season.

Here are five records that Mohamed Salah could reasonably break or equal this season.

The most Premier League Golden Boots

Salah has previously finished as the Premier League’s leading scorer on three occasions. A record-breaking debut season at Liverpool earned Salah his first Golden Boot in 2017/18 before he collected the accolade again in 2018/19 and 2021/22.

His three Golden Boots leave him level with Harry Kane and Alan Shearer, with only Thierry Henry (4) having managed more. Salah, who is a goal ahead of Erling Haaland having played two games less, can match Henry with a fourth crown this season.

The first three-time winner of the PFA Player of the Year award

The PFA Players’ Player of the Year is often regarded as English football’s biggest individual honour. There is no greater recognition than being voted as the Premier League’s finest by your fellow professionals.

Salah has won the award twice, taking the title in 2017/18 and 2021/22. He is one of seven players to have twice won the PFA gong, alongside Mark Hughes, Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, and Kevin De Bruyne.

Currently the clear favourite, no player has ever been voted PFA Player of the Year three times.

The most assists in a Premier League season

Alongside his goal record, Salah has been an elite creator for the Reds. He’s reached 10+ assists in six different seasons for Liverpool, with his 13 for the current campaign already matching his best Premier League season.

He’s three assists clear of Bukayo Saka in the race for the Playmaker of the Season award. The current record for assists in a Premier League season is 20, held jointly by Thierry Henry (2002/03) and Kevin De Bruyne (2019/20). Salah has 20 games remaining to record the eight assists required to take the record.

The most goal involvements in a Premier League season

Salah’s 30 goals and assists is a record for this stage of a Premier League campaign. He’s the fastest to reach that figure (18 games) and the first to do so before the turn of the new year.

The current record for goal involvements in a 38-game Premier League season is 44, achieved by Thierry Henry (2002/03) and Erling Haaland (2022/23). In a 42-game season, Andy Cole (1993/94) and Alan Shearer (1994/95) each recorded 47.

The third player to reach 20+ goals and 20+ assists in a top-five European league this century

Just two players have ever reached 20+ goals and 20+ assists in a top-five European league this century.

Thierry Henry (yes, him again) was the first to do so during the 2002/03 season. Henry scored 24 goals and laid on 20 assists during a scintillating individual season at Arsenal.

It took almost two decades for another player to achieve the feat when Lionel Messi did so for Barcelona in 2019/20. The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner scored 25 goals and created a La Liga record 21 assists for the Catalans. That is the level of company that Salah is bidding to join this season.
