According to Globo.com, Felipe Diniz, Fred Bruno, Gato Mestre, Joanna de Assis and Tropa GE finished as joint top scorers in the 17th round, each landing six correct predictions.

Every panellist called Cruzeiro v Chapecoense correctly, the only unanimous success of the weekend. Grêmio also obliged at home against Santos, adding points for much of the panel.

Palmeiras’ victory over Flamengo proved the main stumbling block, with most backing the Rio side. Fred Bruno was the only one to tip a Palmeiras win. The São Paulo v Botafogo draw at Morumbis also surprised many, with only Alex Escobar, Felipe Diniz and Fred Bruno predicting parity.

The biggest upset came at São Januário, where everyone had tipped Vasco. Bragantino won with authority, 3-0, the only fixture that yielded no points.

Athletico-PR’s away win over Remo further wrong-footed the panel. Only André Loffredo and Joanna de Assis backed Athletico-PR, while most had gone for the hosts or a draw.
