Leeds United are officially preparing the most significant Elland Road overhaul in decades, targeting a 53,000 capacity. Plans include a complete North Stand rebuild and a major West Stand upgrade, with hospitality and accessibility central to the design.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, feedback gathered from readers on its Facebook page highlighted five priorities for the revamped stadium. Supporters stressed that the project should enhance the club’s soul, not just add seats.
First, capacity must better match demand. With a long season-ticket waiting list, many simply want the chance to attend regularly.
Second, reliable connectivity. Fans called for strong WiFi and mobile coverage so they can check scores, replays and keep in touch at half-time.
Third, greater leg room and basic comfort. Tight rows and narrow walkways have long been a gripe, and the rebuild is seen as the moment to fix it.
Fourth, safe standing. Many want modern rail seating and a dedicated area for those who prefer to stand and sing without blocking views.
Fifth, smoother travel. Suggestions ranged from a tram link and better shuttles to a direct connection from the main railway station and even a bridge over Elland Road.
