Pepê, a Flamengo academy graduate, is pursuing unpaid sums from Vitória and has formally notified the Salvador club. If no agreement is reached by Monday, the eighth, he intends to take the matter to court.
According to Coluna Do Fla, the outstanding amount is around R$ 2 million, covering delayed signing-on fee instalments, FGTS, image rights, registered salary and agents’ commission.
His lawyers are seeking early payment of future sums still due under his deal with Vitória, which would take the total settlement to roughly R$ 12 million.
Pepê joined Vitória in February 2025 from Grêmio and is under contract until the end of 2027. He is currently on loan at Cuiabá.
The midfielder came through Flamengo’s academy and began to see first-team minutes in 2018, then spent time on loan at Portimonense in Portugal. He returned in 2019 but did not feature in that year’s Libertadores-winning squad.
While Pepê seeks a resolution with Vitória, Flamengo’s squad are on holiday. They are due back at Ninho do Urubu on 19 July to prepare for a training camp in Portugal.
