Flamengo returned to work on Monday 14 after beating Corinthians 2-1, with Leonardo Jardim beginning preparations to face Independiente del Valle in the Libertadores.
The squad reported at Ninho do Urubu at 11:00 Brasília time. Starters from Sunday’s 27th-round win completed reconditioning, while the substitutes trained on the pitch under Jardim.
Flamengo host Independiente del Valle at the Maracanã on Thursday 17 in the quarter-final second leg. After Monday’s session, Jardim has two further trainings to settle his starting XI.
The victory over Corinthians extended Flamengo’s winning run to five and returned them to the top of the Brasileirão. They have 57 points from 27 matches, while Corinthians remain on 32 in 13th.
Holding a 2-0 first-leg lead from Quito, Flamengo can lose by one goal and still advance to the semi-finals. A level aggregate would send the tie to penalties.
