Flamengo held, Botafogo beaten, Palmeiras hit five in Brasileirão round two

Rio’s clubs endured a rough Wednesday in round two as Botafogo lost at Grêmio and Palmeiras thumped Vitória for their first win. RB Bragantino lead on six points, with Palmeiras second on four and a +4 goal difference.
The evening opened at the Maracanã, where Borré and Arrascaeta scored in Flamengo’s 1-1 draw with Internacional. As reported by Coluna Do Fla.
Red Bull Bragantino edged Atlético-MG 1-0 through Gustavinho. In Vila Belmiro, Santos and São Paulo finished 1-1, Zé Rafael struck first before Calleri levelled for the visitors.
In Belém, Remo and Mirassol drew 2-2. João Pedro and Alef Manga netted for the hosts, Igor Formiga and Nathan Fogaça replied for the São Paulo side.
Palmeiras swept past Vitória 5-1, with Murilo, Gustavo Gómez, Maurício, Allan and Ramón Sosa on target. Dudu reduced the deficit for the visitors.
Grêmio overturned Botafogo 5-3, Carlos Vinícius hitting a hat-trick alongside Tetê and Edenílson. Arthur Cabral and Danilo, with two, scored for the Rio side.
Flamengo have one point from two matches after opening with a 2-1 defeat at São Paulo. They switch to the Campeonato Carioca on Saturday 07 against Sampaio Corrêa at the Maracanã, kick-off 21:00 Brasília time. Their state campaign remains delicate.
