Flamengo name 21-man squad to face Corinthians, Léo Pereira and Pulgar suspended | OneFootball

Flamengo have travelled to São Paulo for Sunday’s match at Corinthians, naming a 21-man squad that omits Léo Pereira and Pulgar through suspension and Plata by technical choice. According to Globo.com, the sides meet at Neo Química Arena at 20:30 Brasília time in the eighth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

Beyond the defender and midfielder, Saúl and Bruno Henrique remain out. The Spanish midfielder is nearing the end of recovery from left ankle surgery and has yet to play this season, while the forward is treating pubalgia and has not featured under coach Leonardo Jardim.

The travelling party numbers 21, three fewer than Flamengo usually take, so no replacements were added for Léo Pereira, Pulgar and Plata.

Vitão and Evertton Araújo are the leading candidates to start, with Danilo and De la Cruz further back in the queue. Plata had not been starting since the departure of coach Filipe Luís.

The likely XI is Rossi. The back four is Varela, Léo Ortiz, Vitão and Alex Sandro, the midfield three is Evertton Araújo or De la Cruz with Jorginho and Arrascaeta or Carrascal, and the front three is Paquetá or Luiz Araújo with Samuel Lino and Pedro.
