Flamengo name Recopa Sul-Americana squad to face Lanús without Plata and Jorginho | OneFootball

Flamengo announced on Tuesday afternoon their squad for the first leg of the Recopa Sul-Americana against Lanús in Argentina, with Plata and Jorginho not included.

The tie is on Thursday at 21:30 Brasília time at La Fortaleza. Jorginho has not recovered in time from a left thigh injury.

Plata is suspended by Conmebol after his red card against Racing last year. He received a two-game ban, serving one in the Libertadores final.

Wallace Yan is also out with muscle pain. Negotiations with Bragantino are progressing towards a deal for the 21-year-old academy forward. Saúl remains sidelined as he recovers from surgery on his left ankle.

The squad travel to Buenos Aires this afternoon and will complete preparations on Wednesday with a session at Casa Amarilla, Boca Juniors' training centre.

The Uruguayan right-back is over a right ankle issue, while the forward rested against Botafogo underwent tests that showed no thigh injury. Flamengo have named 24 players.
